The MTD Kingston ZX represents the pinnacle of the Kingston line. This is a high end instrument made with professional players in mind. Like all MTD Kingston instruments, the ZX undergoes a rigorous quality control and setup process in our US facility from master technicians.
MTD has long been known as a stalwart and innovator in the world of 5 string basses. As such, the ZX is only available as a 5 string. With a comfortable 19mm string spacing and our signature asymmetrical neck and compound fingerboard radius, the ZX plays with you instead of against you.
The Buzz Feiten Tuning System provides precise intonation up and down the fretboard. The robust, top-loading, Quick Release Bridge allows for speedy and easy string changes, while the Licensed Hipshot Ultralite Tuners provide confidence without neck dive.
The ZX comes equipped with proprietary Dual Coil Bartolini USA Pickups and a matching Bartolini USA preamp, which compliment the Mahogany/Maple body and Maple neck with +/- 12db of boost or cut across each of the three bands of the specially selected EQ.
